BRAIN & ORBIT MRI

(with and without contrast)

Technique:Axial T1  , Axial , sagittal , coronal FSE  T2 , coronal T1, sagittal fat sat T2 , Axial , sagittal T1 post Gd .

REPORT :

The bony orbital walls show a normal configuration with smooth and, sharp margins .

No foci of bone destruction , no circumscribed expansion of the bony are evident .

The globes are symmetrical and of normal size and the ocular contents show normal signal characteristics .

The ocular walls are smooth , sharply defined , and of normal thickness .

The optic nerve has normal course and caliber on each side .

The eye muscles are normally positioned  and display normal course and width.

The retrobulbar fat, ophthalmic vein and lacrimal apparatus are unremarkable .

– Left frontal craniotomy with atrophy of left frontal lobe & post op. changes

– Mucosal thickening in left frontal , ethmoid & maxillary sinuses

– Left proptosis because of a well – defined lobulated mass lesion ( low T1 , T2 , FLAIR – intermediate STIR  ) ( 15 x 30 mm ) attached to roof of left orbit with mass effect & inferior displacement of superior rectus & with post contrast bright enhancement suggestive for  reurrent /remnant meningioma

are seen

– in comparison to previous MRI  , no significant change is seen .
